Label-sighted assessment

Since Platter’s is primarily a wine guide, and not a wine competition, our expert tasters initially assess the wines sighted, to assist learning as much as possible about the intent of the producer and the wine’s backstory, as well as vital details such as site and climate.

Blind assessment

Wines scored 93 points and higher in the primary (sighted) tasting round are re-assessed blind to find the Five Star laureates. The highest-rated wines have therefore undergone multiple rounds of stringent tasting and are truly exceptional.
