Winery of the Week: Siwela Wines

The name means 'crossing over', and Gauteng-based ferment biotechnologist Siwela Sweetness Masoga hopes her 'leap of faith' into wine and the winelands as a black female will inspire other young South Africans to become active in the sector, and encourage wine enthusiasts 'to embrace our beautifully rooted African culture and heritage'. She's assisted by Koelenhof Winery to offer friendly, fruit-forward and mostly unoaked wines intended to suit most palates, and exports these 'symbols of transformation' to Ghana.
