A rum-fuelled pipe-smoking competition between Jan van Hunks, an 18th-century retired pirate, and the Devil is said to have created the clouds that spill over Cape Town’s Table Mountain when the south-easterly is up. The bubblies inspired by the tale are boldly packaged ‘to stand out and look different on shelf’, says Tom Gamborg, founder of brand owner Van Hunks Drinks, and styled to be 'not too dry and not too sweet’.
